Over 60 people attended the official launch of RAD’s Deaf Law Centre this evening at The Law Society in Chancery Lane, London, which also saw the launch of:
- Our “making the law work for Deaf people” campaign;
- Our “Making the law work for young Deaf people” report; and
- Our Deaf Law Quality Mark for the legal profession.
RAD Deaf Law Centre aims to ensure Deaf people have equal access to the law and legal services through advice, representation, education and training, as part of its campaign to “make the law work for Deaf people”.
BBC’s See Hear programme were present at the launch, and the event will be featured on See Hear in a half-hour programme about Deaf people’s access to legal services in October 2012.
